Al Ameen website revamped
Al Ameen, the crime reporting service offered by Dubai Police, unveiled its new revamped website at GITEX2011.

The Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency, Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim launched the new enhanced portal.


According to His Excellency, the changes made at the new portal are aimed at benefiting the largest number of people possible. The site is in both Arabic and English and has different pages of information of police services.


Al Ameen service, which was launched in 2003, is run by the Department of State Security. It operates around the clock and offers members of the public several channels to contact the police with any information they have that may endanger the security of the country or the residents.


For example, a person who has witnessed a crime can call the Al Ameen's toll free number to report the crime. All the information, including the person's identity, is kept under the strictest of confidentiality by the police.


The Department of State Security launched Al Ameen to involve citizens and residents in maintaining the security and stability of society in addition to encouraging self-initiative in the delivery of information security that will protect society from any negative effects.


The public can contact Al Ameen via its toll free number 8004888, fax: 2097777 / 04, e-mail: alameen@eim.ae, and short text messages (SMS 4444). The service's BlackBerry pin number is 21DDDBBO and the police will soon offer the service through the iPhone later this year. The address of the website is www.alameen.ae.
